The Guildhall

The medieval hall from where the Guilds ran the City at the time of Shakespeare.

The Guildhall

This large Hall was rebuilt by the Victorians but is still the Court of the City that is run by the medieval Guilds. The square in front of the Hall was the site of the Roman circus and you can see the remains in the basement of the wonderful art gallery. It is also worth going to the clock museum.
